UNESCO heritage sites

Sri Lanka's history and culture is extremely rich for it had developed with time over the centuries, many ancient kingdoms such as Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, and Kandy.

Sri Lanka is culturally affluent with some of the most incredible UNESCO world heritage sites. There are eight UNESCO heritage sites in this exotic island out of six are cultural sites.

The cultural sites are ancient city of Polonnaruwa, ancient city of Sigiriya, the temple of Dambulla, the old town of Galle and its fortifications, the sacred city of Anuradhapura and the sacred city of Kandy.
